App entries with no changelogs

On my Kubuntu 17.10 (with Discover 5.12.4) and Neon dev unstable machines (with Discover 5.13), the list items for apps never show changelogs the way the list items for packages do. See attached screenshot.

Yes, applications should offer changelogs in AppStream. The packaging changelog doesn't make sense there.
Comment 2 Nate Graham 2018-04-13 12:52:55 UTC
GNOME Software displays app updates with changelogs on the same system, so I think the information is there--we're just not using it. I'll investigate the next time I get some updates.

Did you have a chance to investigate?
Comment 4 Nate Graham 2018-10-24 19:15:58 UTC
No, I'm afraid not. But it's still 100% reproducible for me.
Comment 5 Aleix Pol 2018-10-25 14:15:27 UTC
Are you sure it's not applications without a changelog?
Comment 6 Nate Graham 2018-10-26 02:17:43 UTC
Could be. The *packages* all have changelogs, so how can I determine whether or not the things that Discover determines to be apps have changelogs?
Comment 7 Aleix Pol 2018-10-26 09:22:25 UTC
In the updates page, if it's in the applications section (and the addon section on 5.15) it will be getting the changelog from appdata rather than show the packaging information.

I just switched to Manjaro and now my Applications entries have changelogs, hooray! This must have been caused by the Ubuntu packaging or something. Either way, it doesn't seem like it was Discover's fault.
