After upgrading from kde-connect-android version 1.6.6 to version 1.7.1 and beyond, the notification sync plugin no longer works. Rolling back to version 1.6.6 on the phone brings notifications back. I tried various apk releases for the phone, and versions 1.2.1 and 1.3.0 on the desktop. The result remains the same. Bellow is additional information on the 

Phone:
Samsung Galaxy S8
Android 8.0
kdeconnect versions 1.7.1, 1.8.0, 1.8.1, 1.8.2 

Desktop:
Linux Specs
Fedora 27 - kernel 4.15.15
plasma 5.12.4
kde frameworks 5.44.0
qt 5.9.4
kdeconnect: 1.2.1, 1.3.0

Same problem for me. Recent versions of kde-connect-android do not send notifications to the desktop. Switched back to 1.6.6 and it works again.

This problem seems to be connected to some Android versions. For example kde-connect-android 1.8.4 and Android 4.4.4 works well. Notifications sent.

However, kde-connect-android 1.8.4 / 1.8.2 / ... and Android 7.1.2 does not work. No notifications sent.

Same problem here. kde-connect-android 1.6.6 works. The newest version doesn't work. My phone is a Xiaomi Mi A1 running Android Pie although I remember it not working before on Oreo.

Same here for kdeconnect 1.3.3 on desktop and KDE Connect 1.12.4 on Android. The phone is running LineageOS 15.1 (= Android 8.1). Notifications do not appear on desktop though all necessary rights are granted. Even if I grant "unlimited data access" (might be an option available in LineageOS only) to KDE Connect, notifications do not show up on desktop.
