Very minor issue in kubuntu 17.10 beta, using Plasma 5.12. In the backgrounds setting there’s the option to add a blurred edge to non-full-screen images. I don’t like this, but it’s an option so all is good in the world….except that the option is ignored every time I log in. I have to go to desktop settings click “blur” then click “solid colour” (sorry, at work so don’t have exact wording to hand) then apply. Now I’ve got my black edges back…until I log out and back in again. No biggie, just thought I’d let you know.
Can't reproduce here, unfortunately. There were a couple of fixes for that but they should definitely be in 5.12 and 5.12.4
got same problem on 5.12.2. What I found is that slideshow (scaled, keep proportions) changing blur and solid colour dosnt change anything in plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc. However changing them with wallpaper type Image (scaled, keep proportions) changes by adding Blur=true, or removing it. I tryed adding Blur=false whith slideshow but that don't seam to work. I havent figured out where i can look at "desktop settings" code.
The same issue on openSUSE Leap 15.0 with Plasma 5.12.5. If I set slideshow with background color (not blurred border), it works until session restart. Then the blurred border is back. If I open desktop settings, it is set to background color, not to blurred border. So when I change it to blurred and back to color, it is applied. Until next logon.
this fixed if for me and looks like the fix was accepted. https://phabricator.kde.org/D13555 https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=151816
