Elisa nightly Flatpak build from kdeapps repo on Kubuntu 17.10 Elisa's sidebar allows the top-level sorting to be Artist, Album, or Track. But there's no Genre option. It would be nice to have one, and drilling down into a Genre would reveal individual artists as the next level of navigation
We have that on the (long) todo list, so patches welcome :) A question that I wondered about before, which you partly answered already: you would expect to browse the genre, then show all artists meeting the requriments, then go to their albums and finally display the album tracks?
Created attachment 111895 [details] Flawless Lollypop genre view Probably best if it's customizable, but my personal preference is Genre list > artist list > view that displays all that artist's albums. Basically exactly the way Lollypop does it (see attached).

Fantastic. :)
There is an implementation more or less complete in the branch genericModel . Navigation is like this: All Genres -> All Artists with at least a track of the selected genre -> All Albums of this artist -> All tracks of the album . I plan to continue to extend this for the next release. For the 0.2, feature freeze starts on 02 of June . I will be unable to add many more things before the date limit.
I forgot to close the bug report when support for browsing by genre has been added. The first version having proper support is v0.1.80 .
Yaay! Loving it. :)
