Could you please attach a test file with the such assistants? I tried to create the same layout in my local build, but it seems to work fine...

I also cannot get this black screen to happen...even with the 32-bit float/channel grayscale image.

Maybe it is an OpenGL related issue.

Can you provide your system information? Help > Show System Information

Yes, looks like the gpu is glitching out because the textures get too big. Please provide the asked information.
