Currently requires dropping to a CLI to perform via commands instead of GUI(unless using another file manager as Dolphin is forbidden to run as root). I would like to be able to easily adjust a file(s) owner or group via Dolphin context menu "Properties -> Permissions Tab". In addition to that, prompting when required for admin authorization instead of requiring Dolphin as root to adjust root owner to the session user. -- KAuth/KIO/PolKit support for supporting other actions that require root priviledges has been WIP for some time and currently a high priority item. When this is complete, I think adding support for other features requiring root as the session user can be more easily implemented? Tracking issue for dependency: https://phabricator.kde.org/T8075
Don't seem to be able to edit my original message. If it was not clear by the title, this also was about the read/write/modify and executable properties under the permissions tab which also cannot presently be adjusted for root owned files.
