When I drag a file without pressing any modifier key, there is a little PLUS icon next to the mouse cursor. When I press Shift (Move) or Ctrl (Copy) or Ctrl+Shift (Link), this icon stays the same. WISH: It would be nice if for Shift and Ctrl+Shift the PLUS icon would change into "move" icon or a "link" icon. 2002, a similar request was filed against konqueror: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45407
Here I get a cursor change: Dragging with Ctrl I get a plus icon, with Ctrl+Shift I get a link icon. The icon depends on what the target area accepts but dragging within Dolphin definitely changes cursors for me.
I use KDE Plasma 5.12.2. I tried again within Dolphin. Does not work. I will check again after an update.
@Gregor Mi, were you able to test this again? It works fine for me with Dolphin 18.04.
Created attachment 112483 [details] right arrow when dragging with ctrl+shift On my system I get a hand shaped cursor if I press and hold shift before drag the file. Dragging with ctrl I get a plus icon, with ctrl+shift I get a right arrow as my screnshot shows. Arch Linux plasma 5.12.5 frameworks 5.45 dolphin 18.04
For me the behavior of Dolphin is identical to the one @Dr. Chapatin described. @Gregor Mi, can you confirm that this issue is fixed with Dolphin 18.04?
I still have Dolphin 17.12.3. I'll report back when I got the new version.
Gregor, any update?
It'd be great to get a quick update. Gregor, have you been able to upgrade and test this bug again?
Hi, sorry for the delay. I still run Dolphin 17.12.3 on those machines I have regularly access to. I originally reported the bug for openSUSE Tumbleweed. Now, I tried with the Kubuntu machine with the same result. But I tried something different now: I _first_ pressed the Shift key and then I started the mouse drag action. Result: I see no icon at all. With Ctrl key pressed first I still get the Plus icon; with Ctrl+Shift I get the blue right-arrow.
Thanks for the update; changing status.
