Hi, i have 3 updated Neon linux. For each of these i have this problem: I have a new router for fttc, when i connect my neon distributions on it wifi work perfectly, speedtest ok 80mbps down 10 up, the problem appear only if i use hight bandwith for long time (system update, huge file downloads, etc...) wifi remain connected but the connection stop working and download after a small period goes in timeout, ping to router's ip not responding but at the same time i can navigate through it with Android cellpones and another pc windows, seems that this problem appear only on neon. If i disconnect wifi and reconnect to router connection work again until i use again highter bandwith. The only log related to wifi say: dmesg: wlp3s0: associate with d4:60:e3:97:02:fd (try 1/3) [ 1602.915325] wlp3s0: RX AssocResp from d4:60:e3:97:02:fd (capab=0x1011 status=0 aid=1) [ 1602.916870] wlp3s0: associated [ 1602.929356] wlp3s0: Limiting TX power to 23 (23 - 0) dBm as advertised by d4:60:e3:97:02:fd /var/log/syslog: daniele@Nedo-portatile ~ $ tail -f /var/log/syslog Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile kernel: [ 1602.916870] wlp3s0: associated Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile wpa_supplicant[1146]: wlp3s0: Associated with d4:60:e3:97:02:fd Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile wpa_supplicant[1146]: p2p-dev-wlp3s0: CTRL-EVENT-REGDOM-CHANGE init=COUNTRY_IE type=COUNTRY alpha2=DE Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile NetworkManager[938]: <info> [1521627409.2491] device (wlp3s0): supplicant interface state: associating -> associated Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile kernel: [ 1602.929356] wlp3s0: Limiting TX power to 23 (23 - 0) dBm as advertised by d4:60:e3:97:02:fd Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile NetworkManager[938]: <info> [1521627409.2632] device (wlp3s0): supplicant interface state: associated -> 4-way handshake Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile wpa_supplicant[1146]: wlp3s0: WPA: Key negotiation completed with d4:60:e3:97:02:fd [PTK=CCMP GTK=CCMP] Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile wpa_supplicant[1146]: wlp3s0: CTRL-EVENT-CONNECTED - Connection to d4:60:e3:97:02:fd completed [id=0 id_str=] Mar 21 11:16:49 Nedo-portatile NetworkManager[938]: <info> [1521627409.2779] device (wlp3s0): supplicant interface state: 4-way handshake -> completed Mar 21 11:17:01 Nedo-portatile CRON[16326]: (root) CMD ( cd / && run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly) Thanks for attention, i'm here for further clarifications. That sounds like a driver issue. Are you using a Realtek chip/card by any chance? USB or PCI?
I have this problem on a Lenovo laptop, my pc middle tower, and in another pc in my office, 3 different machines.
No, I don't use USB adaptor, for the chipset of the wireless cards, 2 are Realtek and 1 is a Broadcom.
This is unfortunately not a problem on plasma-nm side, you will have to report your problem to NetworkManager instead. NM bugzilla: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=browse.html&product=NetworkManager
