This is a usability improvement proposal. When using face recognition, digikam will sometimes place some unconfirmed faces within a Person's face tag, so you can confirm or deny it. However, the difference between confirmed and unconfirmed faces within that person is barely visible: only by hovering the mouse over a face it will reveal a dialog to confirm the face. Otherwise, they look identical. They could have some kind of color frame around it or something. In addition to that, it would be useful to have some indicator in the People list that new faces have been found for that person. It could be an asterisk next to the name, putting the name in another color, or a count of how many new picture have been detected.
I totally support the suggestions made to solve this.

7.0.0-beta1 is out with new Face Recognition algorithm based on Deep Learning/Neural Network API from OpenCV https://download.kde.org/unstable/digikam/ Please test and give us a feedback Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
See the Neural Network example from digiKam 7.0.0-beta1 performing faces recognition with 2 items face-tagged in first. https://i.imgur.com/HHF4T9X.png 1 new item is recognized, name-tagged, highlighted with green frame, and linked in "unconfirmed" virtual tag for confirmation. Recognition work well using Deep Learning and give 97% of true positive results. Look well my comments on the screenshot: The unconfirmed face has a green frame around thumbnail. I close this file now. Merry Christmas and Happy new year.
The changes made are already very helpful. Especially the colored frame. I still think the second proposal in the original post could be a big improvement too: An indicator next to or on the person's name indicating that me faces for that person are suggested/found and should be reviewed. Thanks for all your work and happy new year.
Oh, both features have already been implemented. Activate the item count in the settings for the tree view and you'll see a notification next to each name when new faces have been recognized. Thanks a lot, and enjoy the rest of the holidays.
