Description Kishore Gopalakrishnan 2018-03-16 11:29:38 UTC
Okular has a feature to trim the margins of the currently viewed PDF ('view > trim view > trim margins' in okular). However, this feature does not seem to be exposed in the live preview that is built into Kile. I have tried searching for this option in 'Settings > configure viewer', 'View > Document viewer', and 'Settings > configure viewer backends'.

An option to trim margins in the live preview would be useful, since in documents with large margins, if one fits the page width to the preview pane, the text might still not be as large as desired, and one would have to manually zoom in (which causes difficulty if I'm editing long equations, for example, by looking at the preview).

It seems this feature was present in the past (It is mentioned in bug #345960, for example).

This would be a very useful feature to have for the embedded viewer. It's the only reason I use okular as my external reviewer.

You can add the trim margin button to your viewer toolbar, or invoke it using ctrl+i and searching for trim margins, or assign a shortcut to it.
