The gtk spinner animation widget will not display at all on KDE Neon. There is a package called "adwaita_icon theme" which states in the package manager that is is a dummy package for KDE Neon. the GTK spinner widget seems to use some sort of animation graphic that renders the widget invisible on KDE Neon, how ever i did manage to install a package named "adwaita-icon-theme-full" which then renders the widget as normal. how ever these 2 packages conflict with one another where only one can be installed at a time. and trying to remove the "dummy" package results in system update asking to install the dummy package again which is inferior to the proper full one.
