Description Scott Harvey 2018-03-13 17:54:31 UTC
Please consider including GCC-7/G++-7 in the neon Developer Edition, since it's what the KDE apps are being built with. Even though it's not officially packaged for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, it can be downloaded and successfully used from the following PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~jonathonf/+archive/ubuntu/gcc-7.3

It doesn't necessarily need to be set as the default, but having it loaded would be handy. Otherwise, we're using GCC/G++ 5.4.0, from 2016. These will compile the KDE apps fine, but won't generate the same compiler warnings as Jenkins (or the senior developers we newcomers are trying to assist).

It's a wishlist item. I've already got my compilers upgraded. Just putting the idea out there for consideration.

Gcc 7 is now in repo due to 18.04 rebase.
