on pressing application launcher/menu shortcut, it pops out quicker that the dock and overlaps it, no big problem, just an aesthetic issue

this cant be fixed in Latte the way plasma is doing this...

Plasma panels are windows with no masking at all and Latte panel docks are windows that are using masking technique almost for everything.

In master version this has been handled through this: https://github.com/psifidotos/Latte-Dock/issues/879

the taskmanager global shortcuts are used also for applets. This technique handles also the specific issue you are mentioning...

I cant think of any, but many times a get new ideas after 1-2 weeks at difficult tasks.

So lets give this some more days and I will close it afterwards when I believe it is a dead end.

This has been fixed in Latte v0.8 by delaying the plasmoid triggering when the dock is hidden
