Description jonbien 2018-03-07 22:57:28 UTC
Whenever I drag and drop something from Dolphin window to desktop, cursor changes to "no-drop" and it doesn't work. I need to make a second move (still dragging) for the cursor to change to "copy" and only then I can drop the file.
So it looks like this: grab -> move -> move a little bit further -> drop.

Confirmed on Arch Linux, plasma 5.12.3.

If you refer to this....

It is working as intended. If you want a "direct" drag/drop as in Windows, please make a request here in the bug tracker.

Spurious disabled mouse cursor when entering desktop for a few seconds

I get the same issue and have attached a video of the behavior. Note the spurious "disabled" mouse icon that appears for a second when entering desktop.

That's normal and what it's meant to do. The red indicator shows itself on places you cannot drop things on, in this case that would be the edge of the Dolphin window. The same will happen over the scroll bars, status bar, etc.

You can ask for an option to turn these indicators off, if you want.

Same issue as Bug 388259: there's an extra movement required before the cursor updates properly.
