Description Markus Elfring 2018-03-07 17:22:23 UTC
I try to start the program “KTorrent 5.1.0-40.7” for the handling of torrent files once more.
Now I wonder why the corresponding application window is not displayed for my XFCE session at the moment.

Using ktorrent 5.1.0 master build from sources and in neon devedition unstable the application window is properly displayed.
Maybe an openSuse or XFCE issue?

Should the application window appear before all torrent file information was completely processed?

Would you like to add any information for a topic like “ICE difficulties with KTorrent 5.1.1”?

Tried ktorrent in a Plasma session in a fresh install of openSuse Leap 42.3 in a virtual machine, works without problems.

What is the output of "less -al $HOME/.ICEauthority" in a konsole?
Are you the owner of that file?

I can look at data from the mentioned file.

It works fine in openSUSE here as well.

It seems that my openSUSE Tumbleweed system can trigger further software test and development challenges.

I can not reproduce undesirable software behaviour with the program “KTorrent 22.12.1” at the moment.
