Hello, A little feature I think would improve digikam's usability, would be able to filter albums by keyword/geolocation/etc, but including photos from all collections. Currently, the miniature view only shows those images from the selected collection, so you can't see all pictures tagged with a keyword at once in digikam. I have four collections in my database. In the tree view, they all appear under a "Albums" first-level element, but if I select it, the "Welcome to digikam" screen appears, instead of showing the combined contents of all collections (contrary to what happens with any other folder, where the contents of subfolders are also displayed). Right now, all collections are treated separately by digikam, and the only workaround is tagging all pictures on the database with a common tag (e.g. "all"), but it's not a nice solution.
Hi Marc, I'm looking at older bug reports. A solution would be Advanced Search-> Reset-> OK shows all images and can be saved as a search. Maik
Hi Maik. What I have been doing all this time, is having a saved search that just search for files with a dot. That way, it lists all files in all libraries. It's a workaround. Although it would be cool if there was a native way.
As a previous Lightroom user, I must say the absence of a "Show all images" option has been puzzling to me. I have been using the Timeline view, selecting the whole range from oldest to newest, to get a view of all images. Never thought an empty search would also return all. Also noting MarcP's method of searching for dots, it shows that people try all kinds of "hacks" to get a view of all images.
