If we right click on the device notifier item in the status bar and go to device notifier settings, there is a checkbox which says 'open popup when new device is plugged in'. I currently have this checkbox unchecked, but I still get the popup when I plug in a USB drive. It looks like checking or unchecking this option does not have any effect.
I cannot reproduce this bug. I unchecked the setting and the popup will not open, I only get the little USB icon show up.
So I tried fiddling around with my settings a bit. I initially had the option to automount removable devices enabled. Turning this off and turning it on again got rid of this behaviour, and now the option works as expected.
humm, on my Arch Linux when automount is enable in "removable devices" kcm, option to open device notifier becomes checked in device notifier settings after I unmount some device (pen drive, for example) using the button from device notifier.
Works for me with automount turned on or off. Can you reproduce this issue in Plasma 5.17?
