Kubuntu 16.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.8.8
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.36.0
Qt Version: 5.6.1
Kernel Version: 4.4.0-112-generic
QS Type: 32-bit

Click on Updates icon in taskbar at the bottom of the screen.
Click on the Update button (16 packages to update).
Updates - Discover window opens normally.
Click on the Update All button.
Authentication window opens normally.
Type password.
Discover crashes when trying to update.
An error message is displayed briefly but disappears quickly, see attached photo
The package failed to install message displayed.
"Error while installing cannot copy extracted data ..." <<= SEE ATTACHMENT
Discover Closed Unexpectedly message is displayed. 

Discover crashes irrespective of how many updates are selected.
Select all 16 updates and Discover crashes; same error msg displayed briefly.
Select just one update and Discover crashes; same error msg displayed briefly.
Unselect all updates and Discover still crashes; same error msg displayed briefly.
