Currently Kimpanel does not ensure all of itself inside the current screen, so part of the candidate list can be out of sight if current cursor position is close to the screen edge.

Is this still happening to you in Plasma 5.25 or later?

On Plasma 5.25.90, I don't think it is still happening.
