Same as text above, with two error messages.

File Save As option fails if .png is not added to file name
1. Grab screen shot
2. Click Save As
3. Type in file name without extension (.png)
4. Get error message #1 - See: File Save As option fails if .png is not added to file name.png

5. Click OK
6. Get error message #2 - See: File Save As option fails if .png is not added to file name2.png

7. Wonder why programmers did not automatically append extension to name.
8. Confirm “bug” by repeating several times.
9. Write “bug” report

Cannot reproduce it with the Spectacle Version 17.12.2 and Version 18.03.70.

Can you please specify the version of your Spectacle or/and try to build it from sources?

Version 15.12.3-0ubuntu1. According to Synaptic, that is the latest
version for my mint linux 17.X

Roman: Thanks for triaging this. Do you still need the NEEDSINFO flag, given the Spectacle version was provided?
Comment 4 Roman Inflianskas 2018-03-06 16:11:15 UTC
I don't know what should we do with the bugs that are fixed upstream. Close them, I guess?
Comment 5 null 2018-03-06 16:20:23 UTC
First of all, don't leave them hanging in NEEDSINFO. Then there are several ways:

- Set back to UNCONFIRMED if you cannot reproduce and it might be that's because the steps to reproduce miss an essential part.
- Set to INVALID or WORKSFORME if it was never a bug.
- Set to RESOLVED FIXED if it was indeed a problem which has been fixed.

In this case, I guess it was a bug which has been fixed in the past already. For complicated cases make sure to "git checkout" the version tag and try to reproduce that way (to confirm it was actually fixed and not because of a flawed testing method).
Comment 6 Roman Inflianskas 2018-03-06 16:23:38 UTC
This bug has been fixed in at least version 17.12.2. Please wait till you get the new version from your repositories or compile it yourself.
