KMail displays emoticons for some text sequences, when viewing incoming mails. This can be disabled by "view -> disable emoticon". However, this setting is cleared after a KMail restart and there is no option in the config dialog to disable emoticons completely.

Can you please point to the specific bug? Searching for "kmail emoticon" does not give any matching result.

If we have the reference, we should also mark this bug as a duplicate with a reference.
