Description farmboy0 2018-02-14 21:02:43 UTC
I accessed my phone with dolphin using MTP.
After I closed dolphin the session crashed and I was returned to the SDDM login screen.

I'm afraid there isn't enough information in this bug report to be actionable. See https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting, and specifically https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting#Step_6:_File_a_high-quality_bug_report

Please add the information indicated in the instructions on that page. At the minimum, we'll need detailed steps to reproduce, the Dolphin version, and a backtrace.

Dolphin 17.08.3

Steps to reproduce:
1. Attach Android phone to computer, set USB mode to file transfer
2. Open the device through the device popup in the systray which should open dolphin with an MTP url of the device (i have dolphin in split view mode) in both views
3. Open Home in one view
4. Copy a file in the android view(i copied a file from the Camera)
5. Paste it to the Home view
6. close dolphin by clicking the x in the upper right corner
7. have fun logging in again

I updated to Plasma 5.12.1 and the crash still happens.

We need a backtrace. I don't use mtp, thus I cannot try to reproduce. With a backtrace we can know whether it's already a known issue.

Please close the bug I dont use MTP anymore its way too unstable.
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2018-09-28 17:20:48 UTC
Ordinarily I'd say we should keep it open to track a fix, but there's no actionable information here and a major rewrite of MTP support in KIO is happening right now anyway, which should improve things
