This problem was tested on OpenSuSE Leap 42.3 using a Kmail draft message. The emoticon editor (System Settings > Appearance > Icons > Emoticons) seems to behave erratically. If the Breeze "beer" emoticon is edited to change (b) to (b)) and the change is applied, it will be lost after exiting system-settings and restarting the emoticon editor and this is a solid fault. However I cannot get consistent results. If an emoticon is modified as above and then changed back to the original character-sequence, the change doesn't always appear to work. In other words once an emoticon is edited the results seem unpredictable. I've also noticed the bug mentioned in 38952 'The View option of KMail2 to "disable Emoticons" is not permanent.' These bugs have the unfortunate effect of trivialising numbered paragraphs (a)... (b).. in what's intended to be a serious message. Regards, DavidL.
