I'm not too sure if this is the problem yet, but am letting you know that a disconnection seems to only happen when i use kget with the metalink plugin

TBH, I don't really see how this could be caused by kget though.

I'm using NetworkManager myself, and haven't seen this problem.

What openSUSE version are you using, btw?
