Global menu vs Launcher applet

In Latte Dock is possible to set a panel to transparent until a window goes full screen or an applet is activated. This works with every applet I tried except the global menu applet.
I previously asked the Latte Dock developer about this, and he said that it would be sufficient that the applet sets itself as active when clicking a menu to make it work. https://github.com/psifidotos/Latte-Dock/issues/862#issuecomment-364747442
