Why are there duplicate applications in the list?
I'm afraid I do not get the correct version or correct program at all.

How to reproduce
1. Start discover
2. Enter kmail in the search field and press search
3. There are now two identical kmail apps

What I expected
1. Start discover
2. Enter kmail in the search field and press search
3. There are now one kmail and other related apps

Each version of KMail comes from a different backend: one from PackageKit (your distro's source of packages) and the other from Flatpak, Snap, or another source that you configured, Duplicate entries appear because their AppStream IDs don't match, so Discover can't collapse them into one entry.
