Description Antoine Requet 2018-02-02 07:29:18 UTC
Hello,

I am encountering an issue where the Alt+P keboard shortcut is not transmitted to applications (I mostly encountered the issue with Emacs and the terminal, but it does not seem to be specific to those applications).
Looking at the keyboard shortcuts in the system settings, I could not find any existing shortcut bound to ALt+P.
However, if I am changing the power management shortcut for switching displays (which is set to Win+P), the ALt+P shortcut starts to work (even if I am setting back the switch display shortcut for Win+P).
This has to be done again on each reboot (Alt+P does not work and I have to touch the power management settings to make it work).

I am using Debian stable, and I am encountering the issue on several computers.

I tried changing the Alt+P shortcut for another shortcut (not just switching display), and I am also experiencing the same behaviour (Alt+P works again until I am disconnecting), so it does not seems to be related to the power management.

Looks like the same root cause as Bug 386253.
