This is a screenshot of my set up

Recently I have set up Krita with subwidows and I open the same document in to separate subwindows... (neither of them are in maximize mode for the record) I usually expand one of them and I set the other one a little bit bigger on top ticking (or check) the "Always on top" mode so it's always on top of the other... I have also detached the toolbox and keep it as a floating docker (just in case this helps). The program itself runs fine for me (even if I turn the "instant preview mode from time to time" since I tend to work with big brush stokes) and I have no issue... But after some time, say like 20 mins, the programs would crash itself...and I fear I cannot really identify what actually triggers this crashing... cause sometimes I'm just trying to save the file, other times I'm trying to resize the brush, or switching to other brush preset... and it just crashes... so it's hard to spot what might be the cause.

Sadly, we won't be able to do anything about this without a backtrace, but you cannot make backtraces with the appimage.

The only options are to either use the Krita Lime PPA to install krita and the debug symbols and then use kcrash/gdb to get the backtrace, or to build krita yourself and do the same.

I haven't had any such crashes myself so sadly I cannot confirm.

Without a backtrace, there's nothing we can do.
