Description simon@i2cchip.com 2018-01-25 23:26:15 UTC
I want to add email address of customers (via Paypal) to addressbook.

the FROM field is always service@paypal, so this does not currently workfor me.

The customer address is in the REPLY-TO field.

So I want to add the RFEPLY-TO field to the addressbook.

(Fairly obviously I also want to automatically send a confirmation email to the reply-to address)

Would you be able to add the reply-to address to your address book by switching header styles?

For example, with KMail 5.7.3, I did this:
- Choose menu item Settings → Configure KMail...
- In the Plugins section, in Header Style Plugins, enable all of the header styles.
- Close and re-open KMail.
- Choose menu item View → Headers → Long Headers.
The message's Reply-to header is now visible, and I can right-click it to add it to an address book.

Thanks for the suggestion, that works for me.

(And it is remarkable how often replyto is completely different!)

BTW, Long Headers weren't in the settings->plugins until after I had tried "all headers" and restarted.
then several restarts were needed before long headers appeared in the view options. (Kmail5.2) Kmail 5 is so goddamn flakey. Have they even restored printing yet?

I would suggest that it should be a default in Fancy Headers to show reply-to when it is non-empty and different from sender.

Well, at least we can close this one!
