Description David 2018-01-24 21:30:00 UTC
It would be nice if the window previews could have the functionality of closing windows with a middle click, rather than only by clicking the red 'x' button.

By 'window previews' I mean those that are shown with the icons-only task manager when there are multiple instances of one application running (either when clicking them or when hovering the mouse over the icon), and the ones shown in the 'Desktop Grid' or 'Present Windows' views that can be configured as actions for the screen edges.

Even though there is the option to configure middle-click behavior on icons, it doesn't affect window previews, and would make more sense to behave differently on them than on icons.

Is this a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206501 ? But that issue seems to have been filed a long time ago, when Plasma's organization was different. Is this a plasmashell or kwin request?

No, it's not a duplicate - that link is for the present windows effect, this one is for the small window previews that show up above the application icon in the task manager.

Currently, latte-dock does this in the window previews that it shows, but if I have the icons-only task manager, these window previews don't close on middle-click.

This is implemented in the task manager and IOTM now.
