I choose EncFS
Restart Plasma
Folder is available in Dolphin, without any password prompt
Systray icons asks for it
Yes, I unmounted the Vault in the systray first.

(I've installed latest KaOS image under VirtualBox and I can't reproduce the problem -- I guess I'm not doing the same things you are)

Yes. Updated, though there weren't many updates to begin with - guessing it was a recent image.
