Description avlas 2018-01-17 11:21:29 UTC
After KF5 update from version 5.41 to 5.42 Kile expanding buttons for compilation errors, konsole, etc. stopped working

This may be related to bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389101

I downgraded to kf5 5.41 using apt preferences and things came back to normal, i.e., Kile expanding buttons for compilation errors, konsole, etc. work normally again.

It might be that this issue is already fixed in Kile version 2.9.91/2.9.92

Unfortunately, I cannot easily test it. I installed Kile from https://launchpad.net/~kile/+archive/ubuntu/master

This repo offers Kile version 2.9.92 for artful and zesty but not for xenial, which is the ubuntu basis for kde neon

The issue is not fixed in Kile version 2.9.92 (which I tried installing Kile package from KDE neon Dev Unstable).

It may also be that this is not Kile-dependent but sth wrong in frameworks (source code or packaging).

Yes, it has nothing to do with Kile. There was a problem in the KWidgetsAddons framework, which was fixed in 5.42.1.

Great, thank you!
