Task: Change the size of a partition up/down several hunded GiB 1) System neon git unstable uo to date Version Partitionmanager 3.3.0 Frameworks 5.42 / Qt 5.9.3 / 2) Resize/move partition dialog Maximum number I can enter into Free space before / Size / Free space after 2a) Preferred unit MiB 111111 MiB / 1024 = 108,51 GiB 99999 MiB / 1024 = 97,66 GiB PgUp + PgDown +/- 10 MiB Align partition enabled or disabled 2b) Preferred unit GiB 111 GiB 99 GiB PgUp + PgDown +/- 0.01 GiB Align partition enabled PgUp + PgDown +/- 10 GiB Align partition disabled 2c) Resizing a partition with the mouse is not possible, I have no right handle or left handle If there is enough space before oder after a partition I can move it only 2d) Changing the preferred unit is only possible with the option --advconfig on start, but that otion is missing in the handbook These limitations make is impossible to change the size of a partition up/down several hunded GiB
the right or left handles are invisible, but after some trying hard i managed to pick the hotspot where the cursor changes, but this point is tiny and hard to find. I use devices in the range fron a few GiB up to a few TiB, therefore the preferred unit setting should not be hidden in a commandline option
I've removed --advconfig command line option. Now advanced config page is always shown. By the way, there is a similar bug report #314435
Thanks. But nevertheless the limit for the maximum nuber you can enter into Free space before / Size / Free space after should be raised to the maximum values given by the device. That would it make possible to change huge partition sizes without the need to use the mouse for such a task.

Isn't it already possible? I can type any numbers I want in those spinboxes as long as they are consistent (i.e. can't have size smaller than used space in partition, etc)

I think the only issue here left is hard to find handles. Let's deal with it in a separate bug #448908 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 448908 ***
