Description Pawel 2018-01-07 08:53:24 UTC
After the latest Manjaro upgrade, all desktop effects/compositing stopped working.
Comment 1 Pawel 2018-01-07 08:56:27 UTC
Plasma modules were updated to 5.11.5

It's rather Manjaro's issue, not in plasmashell. I've used the same packages as you (on Arch Linux) and everything seems to be ok (with effects and compositing).
Comment 3 Pawel 2018-01-07 13:08:29 UTC
OK, thanks Pawel :)
Manjaro KDE seems to be quite glitchy these days. They should focus on on XFCE and KDE instead of starting another official flavour (Gnome).
Comment 4 Pawel 2018-01-07 13:25:34 UTC
OK, it seems it was strictly speaking neither KDE nor Manjaro. I found info in the display settings that opengl had crashed and had been disabled, I enabled it and it seems to be working. Of course the reason why it crashes (it happened before but I was give a warning) is deeper, but it's hard for me to file a specific bug.

Please add the output of qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation
Comment 6 Christoph Feck 2018-01-10 03:06:37 UTC
And now we see why it is bad not to register with full name in bugzilla :)

The effects work fine now, but I'm posting the output:

KWin Support Information:
The following information should be used when requesting support on e.g. http://forum.kde.org.
It provides information about the currently running instance, which options are used,
what OpenGL driver and which effects are running.
Please post the information provided underneath this introductory text to a paste bin service
like http://paste.kde.org instead of pasting into support threads.

We would need that information when the effects don't work.
