Description hardy.public 2018-01-03 11:24:05 UTC
I use Synology NAS as my photo repository with digiKam. It means I also use Synology Photo Station for Internet access to my collection.

The problem I have is that Photo Station is not capable of ignoring the .dtrash folder so any discarded photos are archived and shown to the end users in Photo Station.

I have already asked Synology to ignore any folders with . prefix but I don't when or even if it will be implemented.

Therefore I'd like to ask if it's possible to make the trash folder location selectable so that it does not have to be in the same location as the collection.

Thank you.

Typically, for backup purpose and simplification while restoring data, .dtrash must be hosted in top dir of each collection registered to database.

Agreed. Meanwhile anyone prepared to log in via SSH run this command:

synoindex -D /volume1/photo/.dtrash

...or wherever .dtrash happens to be.
