Mrs.,

   Akonadi is not allowing me to open the other components of it, like kmail. What should I do? How can I solve this so that I can use the components of akonadi or only developers can they use it completely? The error message is below.

/tmp/akonadi-root.33t4T0/mysql.socket

looks like you are running (or tried to run at some point in the past) some parts of Akonadi or applications as the root user. That won't work. Make sure you run everything from your regular user and that you have access to all files.
