Description signupemail 2017-12-21 00:45:53 UTC
On trying to copy a newly created event, in a Webdav calendar, I receive the message. 'Error while trying to crrate calendar item. Error was: Invalid parent collection'.

This bug is particularly bad because on my Windows PC I use Lightning - I have to, for WebDav compatibility - and Lightning too has a copying bug; so I cannot copy events on any platform.

I know that my version of KOrganizer is somewhat old; but, being on Mint, there's nothing I can do about that (except wait).

Confirmed for 5.2.3. Happens even in default calendar (no webdav required). Copy an event, paste it, error message: invalid parent collection.

This is a real nuisance as it hinders the creation of many similar events in a efficient way.

very old version.
I would mark this as UNMAINTAINED as there is no way other than upgrading Akonadi to even being looking at how to fix this.
