After tagging some images via the Information sidebar (and having to restart Gwenview – another bug…), accessing them from the Tags tab on the Start Page does not work completely. Specifically, while items are shown and have the correct filename, they only contain an error image and not the correct thumbnail as displayed when accessed through a normal folder. Note this only affects raster images, SVGs are fine apparently. Probably the same root cause also prevents Gwenview from actually displaying an image in View mode from the tags URL afterwards. Only a red error message is shown.
I have this as well. tagged images show the failed to load error. no thumbnail(not the image thumbnail just the broken thumbnail) and no view. Same images will load fine if not accessed via the tag link, in other words just clicked on from the directory they reside in. the tag links work fine in dolphin.
I guess I can set the status to CONFIRMED, then. If the next comment would have a patch attached, that would be nice… :D

For me this bug seems to have gone away when the 5.42.0-2 version's of baloo-kf5, libkf5baloo5, and libkf5balooengine5, were installed from debian unstable. Going to gwenview, clicking tags and then the tag I want now shows a preview thumbnail of all images that were tagged with it. Also clicking that thumbnail loads the image in the view and the other tagged images show in the thumbnail bar. So, for me at least, this seems to be solved. Thank you to all you folks that crank on kde and other open source code. Without you, well ... I don't want to think of that. :)
Wow, that's great! Thanks for testing and keeping us informed. Indeed, there has been more activity in Baloo recently, and as KDE's software is so modular, Gwenview profits too. Make sure to file bugs for any remaining problems you find.
