Screenshot of dialog box

Since an update weeks ago, I do what I need to updating financial entries, click on Save, but then when I exit the app I get a "document has been modified" dialog EVERY TIME. I'm not aware of making any changes apart from the finacial entries which I've already saved. It's getting irritating now.

In the "History" doc, you should see the why the file has been modify seen the last save.
Could you tell me what is it?

Hi Stephane,

Thanks for the reply.

Where can I find the history document, please? Does the filename contain the text "history" as I've done a search in my Linux Home directory which just keeps going for ever.

Is it one of these files - file:///home/timj/.skrooge/7be5d97f84c0dd3f225150e21ad9b4b8.stats.txt - from the .skrooge directory?

Also, the backup files seem to have changed format. I have one in the "filename old.skg" format dated 20 Jun 2017, but another in the format "filename.skg.old" dated today. Is this right?

Kind Regards,

Tim Johnson

Hi Tim,

The history is in the skg file.
This is linked to the undo/redo mechanism.
You can find some information here: https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/extragear-office/skrooge/main-concepts.html#undo_redo

Comment 5 Stephane MANKOWSKI 2017-12-08 17:38:06 UTC
Are you sure that after this screen capture Skrooge displayed "document has been modified" ?

The document is not modified.

Could you do that ?
-Open skrooge
-Close skrooge
-When you have the message "document has been modified", cancel the closure
-Capture the history and the save button

Screenshot after instructions

I'm not sure what you meant by "capture the save button"
Comment 7 Stephane MANKOWSKI 2017-12-08 19:24:18 UTC
In the screen capture, I can see that the file is well "modified" and the reason is that you clicked on an operation check box to change its status.

Did you do that?

If not there is something strange and then, could you do that from a console?
export SKGTRACE=10
skrooge > traces.txt
play the scenario with the popup panel
close skrooge
send me by email the file traces.txt generated

Confirmation message is due to "Update modified pages on close" set to "Always".
