Description Mathias Homann 2017-12-03 11:40:26 UTC
Digikam suddenly is unable to read or display any images. All my collections have their full folder structure but they are *empty*, even though all the image files still exist on disk.
I do not get ANY error messages at all.
Comment 1 Mathias Homann 2017-12-03 11:45:17 UTC
my dikikam stores all data in a mysql database on my database server, and when I look there all the information about the files in my collections is actually there. it just does not show in the application.

Do you use Qt-5.9.3?

In all case, you can use the last pre-release 5.8.0 AppImage bundle for Linux available here :

...what exactly is an "appimage bundle" and how do i use that on openSUSE?
Comment 7 caulier.gilles 2017-12-03 13:34:07 UTC
AppImage is a binary bundle that you can run as well without to install anything. All is included inside. The contents is just decompressed in memory.

It's explained here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppImage

Just download it somewhere in your home directory, turn on the file executable property, and just start it. digiKam will appear on screen. It's fully compatible with your data, managed with your system based digiKam.
