Created attachment 109153 [details] Example in Vivaldi browser If I assign the main keyboard layout (language) switch shortcut to be ‘Left Alt + Left Shift’, then this shortcuts ‘eats up’ or takes precedence over shortcuts that have Ctrl+Alt+Shift (e.g. these are very common in web browsers) – that is, when trying to input a Ctrl+Alt+Shift combination, KDE switches the keyboard layout and doesn’t execute whatever was under the longer shortcut.
Which version of Plasma and KDe Frameworks are you using? You can find this information in the Info Center.
I’m using KDE plasma 5.92 and KDE frameworks 5.28.0 under debian stretch, but happens also under KDE plasma 5.11.3 and KDE frameworks 5.40.0 in neon distro.
Thanks for the update; changing status.
Ctrl+Shift+T combination is not working in Chromium - instead Ctrl+T without Shift is triggering - when Ctrl+Shift is used for keyboard layout change. Same for Ctrl+Shift+C/V in Konsole, also Compositor enable/disable shortcut isn't working when Alt+Shift combination is used for keyboard layout change Plasma: 5.12.3 Apps: 17.12.3 Frameworks: 5.44.0 Qt: 5.10.1 Kernel: 4.14.27-1-MANJARO OS: Netrunner Rolling
I can confirm this. I have Ctrl+Shift hotkey to change keyboard layout\language and I can't use other hotkeys with Ctrl+Shift in them. For example: Using Ctrl+Shift+C\Ctrl+Shift+V in Konsole does not work. Using Ctrl+Shift+P in Firefox does not work.
Can confirm that the problem is also present in Wayland, despite this originally coming from an X11 bug.
