Steps to reproduce: 1. Stop Baloo. 2. Clear Elisa local data (so that it has no information about local music). 3. Start Elisa. 4. Watch e.g. the Albums view: it has a progress spinner that spins forever. It's unclear what is going on under the hood. The music library should better say "Baloo is unavailable, please check this and that..."
Hello, thanks for the bug report. It should be showing a notification in this case. I will do more tests and fix the problems.
What exact steps are you doing ? I really want to make progress on this but I am not sure what happen for you. Do you get any notifications about tracks not being discovered or Baloo not working ?
Could you please test with the latest release and report your findings ? I hope to have improved things but I am not sure.
Hi Yesterday I reinstalled my Arch Linux + KDE Plasma, installed Elisa from Arch reositories. I can't confirm the problem described here. When I opened Elisa, I saw spinner but I added all my files to music library without any poblem and Elisa can play them.
Sorry, ignore my previous comment. Wrong report.
The current stable version is showing a passive notification in case Baloo is disabled. This is exactly what this report is asking for.
