Created attachment 109098 [details]
Image showing the dialog box.

This is a minor UI that I have noticed many times. This is not a big deal but we are is Plasma 5 era and UI consistency is important in user experience.
Here is the process I follow:

1. Take a screenshot using PrtScr key,
2. Export the image to Gwenview,
3. Crop the image and Save as the image in Downloads,
4. I see the UI image in the attachment.

As I have said, this is not a huge bug but it would be nice to see all round same transition. If devs feel it is unnecessary, they can close the issue.

Lots of love and appreciation for your hard work.

Yeah, there are lots of similar custom styled UI elements all over Gwenview. It is not really an important issue to change this at the moment, but if this gets ever done, it should be fixed everywhere.

Until then, we focus on fixing the urgent stuff, e.g. recently we changed the overlay buttons on the thumbnails to improve their legibility somewhat.

Feel free to point out any legibility issues you might stumble upon, though.

No, so far I have not gotten any issue with the application. I will post a bug if I find any. Thanks for the reply.

Still applicable in 20.08.3. However this is a wishlist item so adjusting status.

The bug has been solved for me. Can anyone else confirm?

I can not unfortunately. What kind of testing did you do and with what version? A screenshot would be nice. I decided to try the git version (which reports as version 22.07.70 on the about page) and even then can I still get the oxygen style message popup to appear. I'll reopen this since it appears unresolved, unless I've gotten it wrong.

There is nothing to take a screenshot of. The save dialog window opens and saves the file. There is no, "You are viewing the new document" pop up anymore.

Still appears in the layest Gwenview that is in arch repos (21.12.3)

About what specific is this bug, since the title (summary) is rather general but the opening post is only about "You are viewing the new document" Oxygen styled message?

Yeah, the title has been retroactively updated to be more general. You can see in the second duplicate report (bug 414774) that it affects other bits of the interface too. One example you can try is to have a slideshow of pictures in fullscreen and get to the last image. You'll get prompted with some text and buttons using this UI style.

I think there are two ways that this could be solved: Either the the custom components that Gwenview uses get updated so that they can adapt to themes, or they are replaced with other ones that already can. Neither is all that trivial since Gwenview is littered with them. Though, I think it's not so bad since it's just cosmetic and not affecting functionality in any way. :^)
