Kate currently opens a session with random(?) tab order and default zoom. It would help (annoy me less) if it always restored the tab order and zoom levels set when the session was saved, or even better when it was last closed. Is this perhaps related to: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384643
Hi, The zoom level works as designed. If you want to always have a certain font size (zoom) you can change it in Settings-> Configure Kate -> Editor Component -> Fonts & Colors -> Font.
Don't want to be obstinate and I realise I probably have an unusual use case, but I think this kind of thing is slowly getting more common: I have multiple monitors with different ppi. I can set different kate sessions to open with sets of docs on various monitors. However I can't comfortably use the same zoom level across monitors. So every time I restore I have to manually zoom every doc in some of the kate sessions. I also tend to remember the tab order, and navigate by it, so I also have to shuffle the tabs back to where they used to be on each restore. I would argue that "remember where I left it" is generally the right thing to do in most situations. Just my (weird?) opinion.

As Bug 419778 mentions, there is still a tab order issue. This bug also talks about zoom level, and that's not the case. Is there some fix to the tab order issue ?. Kate is still opening a session with some kind of random tab order, not as I left them.
Zoom levels are correctly restored? If yes, we can duplicate in the other direction.
Dear user, this wish list item is now closed, as it wasn't touched in the last two years and no contributor stepped up to implement it. The Kate/KTextEditor team is small and we can just try to keep up with fixing bugs. Therefore wishes that show no activity for a years or more will be closed from now on to keep at least a bit overview about 'current' wishs of the users.
