fedora/rpmfusion packaged versions of kdenlive should use
Melt Path: /usr/bin/mlt-melt

by default, check to see if your Settings->Configure Kdenlive->Environment matches that.
Comment 3 Fux 2017-11-30 10:38:46 UTC
yap the path was wrong. it was /usr/bin/melt instead of /usr/bin/mlt-melt.
no I can render.

Kdenlive, fedora29 after kdenlive update cannot find MLT. I direct it to /bin/mlt-melt and it opens but does not remember the location after closing. #kdenlive irc says it must be a fedora packaging issue, which has apprently happened to other fedora users.
