Created attachment 108611 [details] Tags Filter sidebar after faces recognition
What you have on the screenshot is not the left sidebar with the tags but the people tree view from the facial engine. Here is under "Unknown" a virtual "folder" of the found faces of the facial engine. On the right side are the tags that are actually assigned to images. The same for the "Unconfirmed", the faces engine has detected faces and virtually added the images, but are not yet tagged, hence the difference. Yes, that's a bit confusing, but correct. Maik
7.0.0-beta1 is out with new Face Recognition algorithm based on Deep Learning/Neural Network API from OpenCV https://download.kde.org/unstable/digikam/ Please test and give us a feedback Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
Maik, Perhaps there is a way to fix this problem quickly as "unconfirmed" and "unknown" virtual tags present in Peoples sidebar are there for the workflow while faces triage. These tags must be hidden in tags filter i think. Gilles

I think this should be fixed, because many Users request a feature to use the Right Sidebar Unconfirmed Tag Filter to be able to view just the Unconfirmed Faces of a particular tag, as this would allow easy confirm/reject process. The problem is that the tag filter needs a tag in the database so that the SQL query can process it correctly. I would suggest actually separating this from the people tree view and not showing the entries unknown and unconfirmed. Maik
MAik, The problem stil valid with current implement
@Stefan, digiKam 8.0.0 is out. Problem still valid with this release ? Best regards
Cannot tell at the moment, I don't use it currently (travelling)
Stefan, What's about this file using current 8.2.0 AppImage Linux bundle ? It's reproducible ? https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Note: bundle is now based on Qt 5.15.11 and KDE framework 5.110. Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
digiKam 8.5.0 is out with many improvements in face detection and recognition. Please update these entry accordingly with this version. Thanks in advance... https://www.digikam.org/news/2024-11-16-8.5.0_release_announcement/
