Qt: 4.8.7
KDE Development Platform: 4.14.16
digiKam: 4.12.0

uname -a
Linux grisznak 4.10.0-37-generic #41~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 6 22:42:59 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I use digikam from packages (digikam, digikam-dbg packages) on Lubuntu 16

I followed https://www.digikam.org/contribute/

Digikam crashes in "Configure where you keep your images and you will store database" on using "Open File Dialog"

Comment 1 Simon 2017-10-22 11:08:10 UTC
4.x versions are very old and not maintained since a long time. Use a 5.x release instead. If your distro does not package it, you can use the Linux Universal AppImage that we provide: https://www.digikam.org/download/
Comment 2 caulier.gilles 2017-12-16 11:04:18 UTC
This crash is not reproducible use current 5.8.0 pre-release bundle available
