"Manage project profiles" > "Create new profile"
This section has several bugs.

1. At this point the window looks like this https://i.imgur.com/wHYJ0l6.png and already has a bug - the "Profile" field is showing the previously selected profile! I clicked on "New", so "Profile" should show nothing or "New". As it currently is, the user becomes worried that Kdenlive is editing an existing profile instead of creating a new one.

2. Set the "Description" to "deleteme", click "Save profile".

I saw no "Saved successfully" message.
Kdenlive should at this point show my newly saved profile. It did not. I called my new profile "deleteme", while those fields are showing "HD 1080p 25 fps". Very misleading.

3. Click "Close". Back to https://i.imgur.com/uacsmTF.png and still no sign of my new profile.
I have to restart Kdenlive to see it. I saw no "Restart Kdenlive to see your new profile" message, and restarting should not be necessary anyway.

4. Restart Kdenlive, "Manage project profiles" > "Create new profile", select "deleteme" and click "Delete profile". No error message, no success message, and the profile is still in the list. You can "delete" it multiple times, no error messages. If you restart Kdenlive it no longer shows.

When I choose to create or delete project profiles, I can confirm that:

- After saving a new profile, the new profile does not appear in the list;
- After deleting a profile, the profile remains in the list, and, when reselected, displays garbage info.

As it has been a while since this was reported, can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved.

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 20.12.2  https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/20.12/linux/

Trying this with the latest 20.12.2 version:

- Clicking on the "Create new profile" button does show editable fields containing the data from the old profile that was selected prior, and does show the same old profile selected in the dropdown menu, but after clicking the "Save profile" button the dropdown updates to the new profile name.
- There is no successful save message.
- The new profile appeared in the list, and I did not need to restart to see it.

kdenlive-20.12.3a-x86_64.appimage (can't find the exact build hash in the AppImage - issue #434752)

Settings > Configure Kdenlive > Project Defaults > Manage project profiles (icon button)

Original point 1 is still valid - the combobox shows "HD 1080p 25 fps" and after hitting "Create new profile" it still shows the same text. It looks like I'm editing that profile, not creating a new one.

Point 2 is no longer valid. After saving, the combobox is updated to show the new profile.

Point 3 is no longer valid. After hitting "Close", the list of profiles is reloaded.

I think it makes sense to append something like "(copy)" by default.
