when right clicking on the desktop and selecting to configure the desktop the image selection for the wallpaper background has a white border around the individual images. This border is bright white with both regular breeze colors AND breeze dark. When using breeze dark the border looks way too aggressively out of place though.

Yeah, maybe this should use a color from the active color theme.

From what I can tell it's intended to create some sort of Polaroid effect, also used in the KCMs. (I never liked it, though)

I have seen a mockup from the VDG redoing one of the KCMs with a grid + preview delegate.

I'd like to standardise them as much as possible, so hopefully that can tie in there.

I think we can definitively (AKA me) add that to the design. Right now I am not considering using thick borders around images such as wallpapers, icon packs, emoticons (Should we call them emoji's now?) or others. That way the image takes the center stage. So the border line I am using right now is just a 1PX in a light gray. I could make that also somewhat transparent so that the line around an image is toned down by the dark background. Does that make sense? Let me know if that would be a good direction I can take.

Thank you,

Andy

Despite the similarity between the words "Emoticons" and "Emoji", the latter just means Pictogram. :D

Is this still an issue? I don't see this on my 5.13 install.
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2018-10-03 23:19:16 UTC
Yeah, fixed now with the GridViewKCM port.
