Description Elmar 2017-10-06 05:54:20 UTC
Set System settings : Widget Style and Behaviour : Title bar button
Open Dolphin
no menu bar, no titlebar button
CTL+M has no effect
Comment 1 Elvis Angelaccio 2017-10-06 14:05:18 UTC
Do you see the dolphin menus in the global menu bar? What about other applications?
Comment 2 Elmar 2017-10-10 12:35:24 UTC
The problem was I used system settings to put the menus into the titlebar, but some apps (like Kontact) don't do it. So I switched the settings back, but the menus did not display again. It may of course be that a reboot is required? If so, it would be good if there was a note to say so.

I managed to get the menus back - think I picked this up in a google search.
Is all good now. Told me to find the config files and change the ShowMenu to Enabled.

It would be useful if there were a guide or doc that described where the config files are and what their format is.
I switched to Linux in 2009 (after MS from DOS1.0 and Win1.0 Ha!). First Ubuntu, then Linux Mint Cinnamon in 2013, and then tried KDE at various times, but was always problematic. Still use MS in VM.

tested out NEON and decided to switch - I like the ability to configure things the way I like it and am also a demanding user.
In Thunderbird, there is an addon to save an email to a PDF file. Is there any way one can do that in KMail?
Also, in the KMail templates, is it possible to use rich text (bold, colours) in the identity templates?
Or do I need to talk to someone else about this?

Do I mark it as resolved, or you?
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2017-10-10 15:41:33 UTC
You can always mark it as resolved yourself, but just because you've managed to personally fix this problem with a workaround, doesn't mean that the bug itself is fixed. Based on what you describe, I believe there is a real bug here that we should address.
Comment 4 Julian Steinmann 2018-06-09 16:28:01 UTC
If I understand this report correctly, the problem is the following:
If you add the global menu widget into the window header and then take them back out, Dolphin will not automatically show the menubar again. Is this correct? If yes, then I can indeed still reproduce this behavior with Dolphin 18.04.2.
Comment 5 Julian Steinmann 2018-07-15 13:00:45 UTC
I'll confirm this bug report for now as I can indeed trigger a bug when following the instructions (even though I am not certain whether it's the same as the reported one). Elmar, if you could confirm that the behavior mentioned in comment 4 is actually the bug you are experiencing, that'd be great.
Comment 6 Justin Zobel 2020-10-26 04:06:53 UTC
Elmar, if you can please confirm your bug is the one mentioned in comment #4.
